The Three Essential Actions You Must Take To Make 2019 Even More Successful Than 2018

As 2018 draws to a close, it’s time to get thinking about how you can make next year even more awesome than last year.
It’s all too easy to finish up one year and just head into to next, hoping for it to be better than the last. But you know what? It doesn’t work like that!
Success is something that you design in business, not something that just happens whether you are lucky, or not so lucky.
Success isn’t about crossing your fingers and hoping for the best.
Success comes about from planning, from asking the difficult questions, and from being scrupulously honest about what’s working- and what’s not!
There are three key steps that I take at the end of every year, to make sure that the following year is better than the last, and I recommend that you do these too.
1. Review Your Year
As much as you may want to bury your head in the sand, reviewing your year can give you key insights into what worked well for you, and what you need to change for the coming year.
In next week’s post, we will look at the key metrics you need to be tracking, and the key indicators that will tell you what worked, and what needs to be improved for next year.
2. Set Income Goals for 2019
Once you’ve reviewed your year, you need to set some income goals for the coming year.
This is something that can make people feel quite uncomfortable, or just unsure of where to begin.
But if you don’t set income goals, then it’s all too easy to play small, to allow yourself to coast or just to fall short of your potential.
Setting income goals isn’t just about plucking a number out of thin air though. There is a science (and admittedly, a little bit of guesswork) involved. Later in December, we’ll be diving into how to set income goals for the coming year.
3. Set Marketing Goals for 2019
Once you have your income goals clear, you then need to put together your marketing strategy for the coming year.
When you are clear about how much money you want to make each month, it becomes easier to work backwards and see the steps that your business has to take each month, to reach those goals.
